| Description | Christ's College is New Zealand's oldest independent boarding and day school, with a beautiful historic campus in the heart of the city. College has an impressive academic record and our students are motivated to aspire to excellence in everything they do. Christ's College was modeled on the Public Schools of England, with an emphasis on classical education and traditional values and this remains a strong focus for the school today. Christ's College understands that good teaching and learning is not only about assessment, but also about classroom connectedness, and capable, inspiring teachers. Our teachers have a common desire to develop in boys a passion for learning that will endure. The College is known for its unique and beautiful campus, and our heritage buildings are surrounded by the greenery of Christchurch's Hagley Park and botanic gardens. Teaching spaces are modern and highly resourced, with 20-25 students per class. In the senior years, many classes will have 15 or less. The uniform may be black and white, but the students are a colourful bunch! |
