Description

Established in 1925, Wellington East Girls' College has a long and proud record of high achievement and excellence in all aspects of education. It is our main goal that each girl is given an education that respects her dignity, rights and individuality. This education will challenge her to achieve personal standards of excellence and to reach her full potential. All school activities are designed to advance these purposes. The needs of the girls and their learning will be the overriding consideration of the school at all times and a caring and personal level of care is extended to every single international student who attends the school.

The school caters for 1000 students with 100 teachers and support staff, and prepares students for national examinations to pre-university level. The school is set in beautiful gardens and overlooks the city. It is equipped with modern facilities including many specialist rooms for science, art, technology, computers, photography, music and graphics and design. The school also has two full size gymnasia, a swimming pool and a large grass playing field. Class size is always a consideration and varies from approximately 26 in the Junior school to 20 in the Senior school.

Our students would tell you that their teachers truly care about their education and that they are encouraged to participate fully in class. They enjoy the strong school spirit which is evident throughout Wellington East Girls' College and makes for memorable years of college life.
