Concordia Lutheran College is a coeducational Day and Boarding College located in Toowoomba, Queensland, 90 minutes west of Brisbane. Toowoomba offers city advantages in a regional setting.
Concordia is a medium-sized College which includes an Outdoor Education Centre. We provide a welcoming atmosphere and a caring Christian environment. Our boarding community has opportunities to participate in many activities including College and city sporting teams. Our international students receive ongoing support from our dedicated ESL Teacher/ International Student Coordinator. 
International students have performed exceptionally well in the past, and often continue their studies at prestigious Australian universities.
International students are fully integrated, valuable members of our College community.

Accommodation

All International students stay at Concordia’s boarding facilities. We do not arrange Homestay, except in special circumstances when students do not fly home during the holiday breaks.

Student support

Our ESL Teacher/International Student Coordinator supports and assists International Students with their academic and pastoral needs. Assistance is also provided for ongoing requirements, such as vacation homestays, airport transfers etc. A comprehensive orientation program offers guidance in all areas to provide essential support to students, as they settle in to their new life as part of the Concordia community.
Type of programs Long-term programs (study for 1 year or more), Short-term programs (study for 3-6-9 month), Study Groups, Our preference is for students to study at Concordia as long-term boarding enrolments. Nevertheless, we would also be interested to receive requests for short-term enrolments or Study Tours.

Sports

Students have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of competitive and non-competitive sporting and recreational activities. Some of which are: AFL, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Basketball, Volleyball, Netball, Soccer, Futsal, Tennis, Swimming, Water Polo, Cross Country, Hockey.
Cocurricular activities can include: College Musicals, Vocal and Instrumental groups, Bands, Pedal Prix, F1 Racing, Science & Engineering Competitions, Debating and subject competitions.
Facilities

Recent new and improved facilities include a Science Centre, Function Centre, ESL Learning Centre and a Hospitality Centre. Concordia also has dedicated Technology, Performing Arts and Aquatic Centres along with separate Girls’ and Boys’ Boarding Houses.
Application process

International applicants must be able to demonstrate a sound proficiency in English. Concordia Lutheran College requires:

 

  • Application for Enrolment
  • Copies of two recent School Report Cards (translated into English)
  • Copy of Birth Certificate or Passport ID page
  • Evidence of current English Language proficiency levels via Agency placement tests or other methods as determined by the College
  • Application Fee of $100

 
Features of the local area

Toowoomba is a picturesque highland city with a relaxed lifestyle, located in SE Queensland, 135 km west of Brisbane. It is on the edge of the Great Dividing Range escarpment at an altitude of seven hundred metres above sea-level, which affords breathtaking views of Table Top Mountain and the Lockyer Valley region. With a population in excess of 110,000 inhabitants, Toowoomba is Australia’s largest inland regional city and is the commercial and economic hub of the Darling Downs.
Curriculum

Our Curriculum equips students with lifelong learning qualities and focuses on developing a student’s ability to reach his/her potential, become open and responsive communicators and resilient principled leaders.
Students have a variety of Core and Senior Subjects on offer. These include: English, Mathematics A, B and C, Christian Studies, Physical Education, Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Visual Art, Drama, Dance, Music, Recreation, Business, Accounting, Legal Studies, Food Technology, German, Graphics, Technology Studies, History/Geography, Ancient and Modern History.
