Founded in 1884, our school is a leading girls’ school in Hamilton, New Zealand.

Tuition costs
  • NZ$16,000 – tuition (includes ESOL tuition)
  • NZ$1,000 – administration fee (includes homestay placement fee)
  • NZ$1,000 – 24/7 pastoral care fee
  • NZ$1,400 – Prepaid/discretionary expenses (e.g. stationery, school-based costs, trips and camp fees).

Accommodation homestay,

We arrange a caring homestay for each student with wonderful opportunities to improve her English, become immersed in New Zealand culture, and have fun! Our homestay families are police-vetted and experienced, and love hosting both short term and long term students.

Student support

Our culture of care ensures that every student is welcomed into a caring, supportive and safe environment.

Students meet regularly with the Director to monitor their progress and help plan pathways so they are clear what they want to achieve while at Sacred Heart and beyond.

The international team members and other school staff (CCM teachers, Deans, Learning Assistants and Guidance Counsellors) provide excellent support to our international students to ensure their health and wellbeing, and to ensure that each student’s time at school is enjoyable and rewarding.

English as second language

We offer ESOL Specialist tuition in English Language at different levels, as well as classes for NCEA qualifications. Our classes are small, with extra support for those who need it.

Sports

We encourage international students to make the most of their time here, by participating in a range of activities. There are over 25 sporting codes available, as well as many clubs and special interest groups.

Facilities

We have both traditional and flexible learning spaces, including a theatre, well equipped art and music facilities, a beautiful library, and sports facilities.

Application/enrolment forms are available from our website.

Once accepted, we will contact you confirm study dates and send an offer and invoice with details of how to make payment. Once payment is received, the offer letter is used for the visa application. We will organise a homestay family, if needed, and confirm pickup details for the student’s arrival in New Zealand.

With a fast-growing population of approximately 170,000, Hamilton is New Zealand’s fourth largest city.

Hamilton is located in the Waikato, a region famous for its agriculture, education facilities and tourist attractions. It is a clean, safe, friendly modern University city, with a mild climate, and is located less than 1.5 hours’ drive from Auckland International Airport.

Sacred Heart Girls’ College is within 200 metres of food outlets and shopping facilities.

Curriculum

We have an extensive range of subjects available. We follow the National Curriculum for years 9-10 and NCEA for seniors. We have excellent academic results and our NCEA results are well above the New Zealand national average.
