| Description | Darfield High School is a Year 7 – 13 co-educational public high school with around 850 students. We are a decile 9 school with a very strong academic record. At Darfield High School, we are large enough to offer a wide range of academic, cultural, and sporting opportunities but small enough to know our students well. |

| Student support | We have 4 staff in the International Department to support international students, as well as wider school staff including teachers, deans, guidance counsellors, and a careers counsellor. |

| Sports | We offer a wide range of sports and extra-curricular activities, please see our prospectus for the full list. We are particularly strong in horse riding, and snow sports. We also offer a full activity programme for international students including weekly international club, termly events, and our own trips in each school holidays. |
| Application process | International students need to complete an enrollment application form, and indicate their level of English. A minimum of pre-intermediate level English is required for all courses, and a higher level of English is required for students taking NCEA. |
| Features of the local area | Darfield town is a beautiful, friendly, safe rural town located conveniently close to Christchurch. It is just 35 minutes’ drive from Christchurch International Airport. In Darfield there are cafes, a pharmacy, bank, post office, medical centre, and small supermarket. Students can relax and enjoy a real New Zealand experience in Darfield. |
