Description | Adcote is one of the friendliest and most successful girls’ schools in England. Founded in 1907 it has a long and distinguished history, as well as a reputation for providing excellence and all round education for aspirational girls. The school is located in an idyllic rural location, just four miles from Shrewsbury and surrounded by 30 acres of glorious parkland. We nurture girls’ individual talents and pride ourselves that all girls have the opportunity to excel academically, on the sports field, in music and performing arts. Adcote girls are ready to face the challenges of life in the 21st century. |
Tuition costs | All year groups are £35,100 per year. This includes accommodation, EAL and half term stays. Uniform, taxis and weekend activities are all charged extra. We have opportunities for a 25% fee reduction and a 40% scholarship available for particularly academically able student |

Student support | Outstanding pastoral care, with a head of student well-being, a matron, and house parents all living on site. There is an international house officer who takes extra care of our international students. Each girl has a form tutor with whom they meet every morning and weekly assemblies provide an opportunity for the school to come together. There is a chaplain who is available should the girls want time with her and she also runs sessions at break and lunch. Career and academic support is ongoing and additional classes are available for students who need support in their university applications, Oxbridge assessments and interviews. |
Type of programs | Long-term programs (study for 1 year or more), Short-term programs (study for 3-6-9 month), Short term students are accepted for half a term (6 weeks) or longer, shorter visits are available on request. Taster stays are also available for two nights and three days for families who would like to try the school before accepting an offer. Our school does not accept study groups. |

Application process | Students need to sit a skype interview to evaluate their English and their potential, and take additional assessments in English and mathematics (for year 10 and up) |
Features of the local area | Shrewsbury is a beautiful historic and medieval market town, located right in the heart of England, about an hour from Manchester and two hours from London (airport transfers are included). The school is in a semi-rural and beautiful setting, with grounds the girls are free to roam around. The town of Shrewsbury is a popular weekend destination for shopping trips and the school minibus makes regular stops there. |
