Description St Peter's is a private co-educational boarding and day school for boys and girls aged 13-18 years. There are 1240 students, including 430 boarders, it is the largest co-educational boarding school in NZ. St Peter's offers both NCEA and IB study programmes. The school has excellent pass rates in both NCEA and IB with most students attending university in NZ or overseas. The school has excellent music and cultural programmes. St Peter's has world-class facilities including a golf range, two heated swimming pools, an equestrian (horse riding) centre and the NZ national velodrome is on campus.

Accommodation

Students usually stay in one of our 6 boarding houses while other older students ask to stay in homestay families. All students stay in homestay families during the school holidays and leave weekends.

Student support

The International student support team staff looks after students from the moment they arrive in New Zealand until they leave. We offer a full range of services including airport pickups, visa processing, nurses and a wellbeing centre are also on-site, the boarding houses and the international department also offer some weekend and holiday activities.

Sports

26 different sports are available, and all offer incredible facilities. There are specialist academies that provide professional coaching: golf, rowing, cycling, football, horse riding, rugby, cricket. There is also a wide range of cultural activities including a Musical Theatre Academy.

Application process

Students complete an application form and provide a copy of their latest school reports. They also need to provide a writing sample. An interview by Skype/Zoom or in-person is also required.

Features of the local area

Cambridge is a safe, small, rural town close to Hamilton city (the fourth largest city in New Zealand) and only 90 minutes from Auckland International Airport. It is close to many popular tourist places and beaches.
