Director of International Students

Description

St Paul’s Collegiate School is a private Boarding and day school that offers a boy’s only junior school from Years 9 to 10 (ages 13-15) and a co-educational senior school for Years 11-13 (ages 15-18 years).

The school is located in the middle of Hamilton city on 19-hectares of pristine gardens and grounds. St Paul’s welcomes international students either as boarders or as day students living in homestay accommodation. All students are provided with a safe and secure environment where they can concentrate on their learning and develop their individual talents.

With a team of expert educators St Paul’s is recognised for its outstanding academic achievements. Students are able to study both NCEA, and Cambridge subjects and our small class sizes (10-20 students) are contributing factors. Our mission is to prepare students for life in the global environment by providing challenging experiences that realise their full potential through faith, virtue and excellence in performance. As such we also have strong focus on global citizenship including fostering an awareness and a way of thinking to understand and support others.

St Paul’s developed the ground- breaking agribusiness programme in response to recognising a need within our region and in 2018 won a Prime Minister’s education excellence award ‘Education in Leading – Atakura Award’. The programme includes a study of topics in the areas of Science and Business including plant science, soil science, microbiology, agri-management and finance, economics, digital technologies, agri-innovations, agri-marketing, primary production processes, future proofing, growing value and international trade.

TIHOI Venture School “Boys to Men programme”. In year 10 students spend 18 weeks at our second campus, Tihoi Outdoor Venture School, located close to Lake Taupo. This is a unique and life changing experience. In addition to a full academic programme based on experiential learning they are also given the opportunity to experience a wide range of outdoor pursuits. These include kayaking, sailing, rock climbing, mountain craft, caving and hiking. Teamwork and strong leadership skills are developed.

The school has first class sports facilities including a heated swimming pool, gymnasiums, tennis courts, international spec hockey turf, fitness centre, squash courts, and extensive outdoor playing fields.
