Dollar is recognised as one of the UK’s leading schools and has a very sound reputation amongst the top universities in the world with students going on to UK universities including Oxford, Cambridge, St Andrews and Edinburgh, and Harvard and Stanford in the US. The outstanding teaching is matched by over 150 co-curricular activities - this is a successful school filled with happy and very active children.

English as second language

The boarding community at Dollar is made up of students from 28 different nationalities at present, so the school is well used to providing support in this area. Dollar has a dedicated EAL (English as an Additional Language) teacher within the Support for Learning department, who helps both day and boarding pupils to develop their learning wherever a need is encountered or any barrier to learning is identified.

Application process

For boarders, entrance is via interview with our Rector (Head). All pupils will also need to provide the latest two reports from their current school. Parents are encouraged to contact the school to discuss the interests and abilities of their child. Applications are accepted at any time of the year. Scholarships and bursaries are available.
