Silverstream is a Boarding School for Boys from Year 9 to 13 located within the vast and beautiful school grounds, that provides a strong educational pathway through a broad range of subject areas. Underpinned by the traditional values of our Catholic Founders, we offer a holistic experience that enables your son to have access to the best, whilst mentoring a culture of excellence. Our location offers unique opportunities along with access to the National Institutions that come with being situated just a stone’s throw away from New Zealand’s capital precinct.

Tuition costs

Tuition Fee $19,350 inclusive of GST per year

Administration Fee $1,000 inclusive of GST per year

Registration Fee $500 one-off fee.

Accommodation boarding,

Our School Boarding Hostel is called Redwood House and is located within School Grounds, it caters for 110 students and overlooks our vast sports fields. The Hostel provides a fun, safe, secure, caring, and structured environment with strong routines and high expectations to foster the growth and development of young men into the best version of themselves. Our staff makes every effort to ensure each student feels safe, welcome, healthy, and motivated to reach their personal potential.

2024 Accommodation Fees:

$21,550 inclusive of GST for the full academic year including term breaks (breakdown: $17,500 Term time Boarding Fee, plus $1,350 inclusive of GST for accommodation for each of the three-term breaks).

Application process

Students are required to complete an application, and attend an online interview. An English placement test for subject placement is completed on arrival, on occasion we may request an English test prior to the approval of placement at St Patrick’s College Silverstream.

Upper Hutt sits between bush-clad hills and the Hutt River and is only 30 minutes from New Zealand Capital Wellington, our location offers access to unique opportunities with access to the National Institutions that come with being a stone’s throw away from Parliament and the Capital City.

Upper Hutt has a population of approximately 38,400 and offers great public facilities and activities with more than 50 parks a range of scenic walkways, sports grounds, and native forest. Home to the NZ Campus of Innovation and Sport (NZCIS) one of the most advanced training and research facilities in the world.

Curriculum

Year 9

Core subjects are English; Social Sciences; Mathematics; PE/Health; Science; Te Ao Māori; and Religious Studies.

Year 9 Students also rotate through the following courses:
• The Arts: Drama; Creative Art (Visual Art Design); Music.
• Technology: Design & Visual Communications; Hard Materials.
• Languages: Pacific Studies; Spanish.
• The essentials (Financial Literacy and Food and Nutrition)

Year 10

Core Subjects are English; Mathematics; Science; Physical Education/Health; Social Sciences;and Religious Studies Year 10 students also select options to study such as
